01

Beliefs

What we actually believe shapes how we live. God’s Word is His gift meant to bring us to faith and give us life (Psalm 119).

According to His Word, we believe that God is the Creator, that He created us to know and experience His goodness, that we have rebelled against His good design, that our rebellion cuts us off from His goodness, that He purposed to rescue us from sin’s curse through Christ’s life, death, resurrection, ascension, and eventual return, that the Holy Spirit makes us alive and gives us hearts capable of loving God and others, and that we are moving toward His glorious Kingdom where sin will be judged forever and all who have put their hope in Christ will enjoy the fullness of God’s goodness forever.

02

Convictions

We live in alignment with our convictions. We are all gripped by something. Something has captivated our hearts and minds and our imaginations, and that thing compels us to live in particular ways.

Our 5 conviction statements summarize what we believe about our existence, our identity, our purpose, and our influence. They are meant to help us grasp the broad teaching of the Bible and to integrate God’s Word into our day-to-day living – in faith and by grace.

1. We exist for the glory of God.

2. God is glorified through Christ as his gospel is proclaimed, believed, and obeyed, transforming the believer to become like Christ.

3. The Holy Spirit creates a new kind of community that reflects Christ to the world.

4. Members of this community develop others to thrive according to God’s design.

5. A Christ-centered community seeks the good of its community for the glory of God through hospitality, work, and service.

03

Mission

Jesus gave His followers a two-fold mission – love the church and love the world so others will know Christ. We have a responsibility to God’s people and we have a responsibility to the world in which we live. By God’s grace, we are building a Christ-centered community to reach our community, for the glory of God.

Building a Christ-centered community means nurturing a healthy church that is faithful to Christ. We do this by teaching God’s Word and encouraging one another to align our lives to it by faith. We gather each week in obedience and conformity to God’s Word, not our personal preferences or the culture’s whims. The rest of our church life flows out of what God’s Word calls us to as recipients of God’s grace. We gather in each context to help each other orient our lives to the Person and Work of Christ in anticipation of His return.

If our lives are oriented to Jesus, we will adorn His name and His gospel to the unbelieving world around us. Some will oppose us and reject Christ, but our prayer (and our hope) is that God will draw many to Himself and give them life in Christ, so that His name will be glorified.

04

Strategic Commitments

Our strategic commitments summarize the specific ways we are striving to carry out the mission Jesus gave us.

1. Align to our CONVICTIONS // Because our convictions reflect our beliefs, we will align all ministries and people development to our five convictions by educating all attendees and challenging and encouraging them to fully embrace the convictions in their personal lives.

2. Do everything with EXCELLENCE & ACCOUNTABILITY // We will carry out all ministry efforts with excellence and accountability, seeking our direction, wisdom, discernment, and ability from God. We can’t do everything as well as everyone else, but we will do our best with what we have to honor God and serve others.

3. CONDUCT ourselves in love // We will conduct ourselves in a way that honors Christ through loving relational commitments as we are being built into a Christ-centered community.

4. DEVELOP others // We will intentionally develop existing and emerging leaders by educating, encouraging, and enabling them to lead in their ministries, homes, and workplaces with the faith and hospitality that result from Christ-centered personal lives.

5. Cultivate a Kingdom CULTURE – We will cultivate a Christ-centered culture that is characterized as praying, proclaiming and welcoming, discovering and working, connecting and serving, celebrating and going.
